Bruce Taggart and Christine Chan have lived in Millbrook since 2005. Now retired, both were formerly College lecturers. Bruce is a Parish Councillor and is a Director and Chairman of the Friends. Chris is the Secretary.
“We both strongly believe that the chapel should remain as a community asset and become the focal point for anyone wanting to find out more about the history of this magical part of Cornwall.”
Jane Huggins is a Director and is our Treasurer. “I have lived in Millbrook since 1984. Amongst other jobs I worked for Cornwall County Council delivering re enablement to both the local and wider community; a job that gave me huge satisfaction.
I am passionate about saving the chapel so that the residents of Millbrook, the surrounding villages and holidaymakers can enjoy this beautiful building and what we hope to offer in the not to distant future.”
George Arnold was born in Millbrook and is a director. He is a retired builder who worked on the Rame Peninsula for 37 years. He was the main contractor on the renovation of Millbrook Village Hall, the Wesleyan Chapel and the Scout Hall. His wife Sadie is a committee member, “Keeping the heritage of Millbrook alive is very important to us.”
Allie Hastings is a committee member.
“I was brought up in Hertfordshire with my 2 sisters and came to Kingsand every year for the summer to stay with a relative, many very happy childhood memories. I relocated to Millbrook from east London just over a year ago. Both my sisters and Mum had previously moved to the Rame area so it seemed only natural to follow them to this glorious part of the world.
Jacquie Briers is a committee member who's goal is to help save this beautiful building and make it accessible to the village as a heritage site.
Caroline Peters is our membership secretary. She lives in Millbrook with her family and is secretary at Mllbrook CE Primary School. “I am keen to help keep the chapel. It is a wonderful opportunity for children and families to learn about their local heritage, to study the flora and fauna in the graveyard and enjoy using the beautiful chapel building”.
